Well Done!!!
August 13, 2008 by Matt.
Yesterday afternoon I was watching an episode of America’s Got Talent that I had recording a couple weeks ago. (Ok guys go ahead and laugh, I find the show entertaining) Anyways, as I watched they showed a clip of one of the male contestants talking about his original audition. He stated that his mother was never more proud of him then she was in that moment. I found myself thinking about the times that my parents had told me they were proud of me. As I thought about this I realized that I had spent a lot of time trying to make my parents proud. Then it hit me, what does it matter if I spend my entire life striving to hear my parents say, “Well done,” only to get to heaven and have my heavenly Father not say it?
Now, this is not to say that there is anything wrong with wanting my parents to be proud of me, or that there is anything wrong with hearing them say it. However, at the end of the day I will face judgement the same as them and their pride will not matter. So, at that moment I made a decision. No longer will I do things that are aimed at making my parents proud, but rather my goal will be to focus on things that at the end of my life will make my heavenly Father say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Who are you trying to please? Are you trying to make your parents proud, or your spouse, or maybe your kids? Are you striving to make your boss proud, or your co-workers, or maybe your friends? At the end of the day will it really matter what these people think about you. When you face Christ will he say, “Well done,” or will he say, “Depart from me, I never knew you?”

Oh yeah, my wife is pregnant
August 7, 2008 by Matt.
Ok, so I was at a going away party last night for a couple of friends that are headed off to seminary. While I was there I ran into someone that didn’t know that my wife was pregnant (sorry Travis). Then it dawned on me that I think he reads my blog. So, I put two and two together and realized that if he reads my blog and didn’t know that Kim was pregnant, then I must not have put it up here.
So, here it is
MY WIFE IS PREGNANT
For those of you that already knew that or are just finding out and would like to know it is a girl. Her name will be Jayden Brooke. She is scheduled to be born on 12/5/08. We are very excited.
This is truly a gift from God. We have been trying for 3-4 years to get pregnant.

July 22, 2008 by Matt.
Hey guys, I am still here. Last week we had LifeCamps at my church. I took off work to work it. It was amazing. Anyways, that is why I have not been on in a while. More about camp later. Till then you all have a good one.
